I agree that the war in Iraq is important. Cover it. Ditto for the Gonzo and Rove items. I'll even say that the Craig brouhaha is okay.
But. There are some smaller news stories that, just get passed over.
- PennDot is moving the Acid Rock from Skytop, moving forward the eventual opening of I99 from Maryland to State College. This is only newsworthy to those of us who are from the area, except that well, once that rock gets exposed to air it could spoil a lot of wells. Nothing has happened yet, but I shudder to think of the acid runoff heading to the Chesapeake Bay.
- PetSmart is now selling live rabbits. Seems kinda odd that a store that has for years been against selling animals, now sees a need to do so. The rabbits start first, then before you know it, it'll be rats, mice, and the dogs and cats. Spay and Neuter people.
- I live near 2 of the worst bridges in Pennsylvania. One I drive on 4 or 5 times a week. The other I drive under 5 days a week. And my governor's plan is to make I80 a toll road to pay for it all. His f'in plan should be to not fund baseball stadiums.
- On a side note. 2 years after Katrina and some people have not gotten FEMA money they are entitled to. Not news. But did you know that in Carbon County PA, a biking trail gets FEMA money because it was washed out in places, by Hurricane Ivan! Priorities people.
- And my final point. Steelers will be lucky to go 4-12 this year. But hey we have 5 rings anyway.
