Better late than never - I wish I could have put these online sooner but I was having some technical difficulties with my laptop during the convention, so I wasn't able to do the image processing and uploading until this morning.
I'm just putting one photo above the fold, to spare the bandwidth challenged - I'll put a bunch more crowd/attendee shots below the fold, and then I'll put the event/panelist pix in the comment thread.
I really had a great time at the convention, kudos to everyone who organized this and see you next year!
That first photo above the fold is the crowd applauding at the conclusion of the Presidential Leadership Forum on Saturday.
Now, in somewhat chronological order, here are a few more shots of the crowd, and attendees. I wish I had taken more of these type of shots instead of the panelists and "celebrities" - but I was feeling kind of shy this weekend, and honestly it's a bit hard dealing with some of the seeming hostility/suspicion when you are taking pictures of folks - it's totally understandable, and I sometimes feel the same way when I'm being photographed. But considering we're all under almost constant video surveillance these days, I think it's ironic that non-credentialed amateur photographers like me get this reaction a lot. Ok, enough moaning and whining from me - here are some more pics:
These four pix were taken before the opening keynote speech by Howard Dean:
These next two are from the following day, I think - the reaction to Wesley Clark's speech (see the comment thread in a few minutes, I'll post a pic of Clark there, and Jon Soltz giving his intro)
From the box lunches piled up on the table, I believe these next two pix were taken before or during Andy Stern's lunch keynote speech:
And here's another shot of the crowd after the Presidential forum on Saturday:
I really wanted to take a lot more individual portrait shots like this next one of individual bloggers and I actually did shoot a few more of these on the final day, but I haven't finished processing and uploading them yet. Let me know in the comments if you'd like to see more and maybe I'll post a follow up diary tomorrow!
Please check out my comments below, I'll be posting more pix of presidential candidates, panelists, and other celebrities/blogebrities(?)
PS in case anyone doesn't already know, there have already been over 1,000 pix uploaded by many photographers on flickr. You can search the tag ykc07 to find most of them!
