Sometimes I can't believe that I am truly reading the words of people who claim to support America. Alexander Hamilton had it right - "If it be asked, What is the most sacred duty and the greatest source of our security in a Republic? The answer would be, An inviolable respect for the Constitution and Laws — the first growing out of the last... A sacred respect for the constitutional law is the vital principle, the sustaining energy of a free government." How many people have actually read the Constitution? How can you claim that your actions are to uphold the Constitution, when you have never read, or truly understood its meaning? I know some of you are thinking, 'does the Constitution really have an objective meaning?' The answer is most certainly yes; read anything Jefferson, Madison, Adams, Franklin, or even Washington had to say about the matter, and you will understand that they had a specific purpose in mind for our Constitution and our country.
To act against the Constitution should be considered treason. End of story. How can a congressperson, judge, or even president take the oath to uphold the Constitution, and act in direct opposition to it? There is a process if a change is needed for the Constitution; due process by amendment. You do not amend the interpretation of the Constitution by writing laws around it. Let us remember the Separation of Powers clause. Judges and the Executive do not legislate. Parties aside; if you do not support that document, you are not a real American. Oh, I know, maybe you were born here, but where do your loyalties lie? Actions speak louder than your place of birth. Some of the best examples of the American spirit we've had in our country were immigrants. One has even become a governor. Yet there are so many people who take their American heritage for granted. I was watching a video about a socialist revolution rally being held in San Francisco, people talking about Old Glory like it was an emblem of hatred and murder. So many God-respecting men who were filled with brotherly love for their fellowcitizens and family died so we could live in this country and what it stands for: freedom, true liberty. Today there are men who do not live up to these ideals. So why are they in power? Why do we vote them into power? We shouldn't vote for a candidate because they have enough money, or because they are a member of a party, we should determine on an individual basis, regardless of party or financial status, who will be the best candidate for the job. John Adams said: "Our Constitution was made only for a religious and moral people. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other." So why don't we elect some MORAL people? When the framers built our Constitution, guess who they asked for help? It wasn't the king, it wasn't the French, they asked their Creator. I know some people will think I'm on the fringe as far bringing God into it, but these are the facts, people. Let's take some advice from the guys who started it for a change. It was freedom then, and it should still be today.
