Every day of September I'm making a contribution to a new candidate, announcing it here on Daily Kos, and encouraging you to join me. If one person matches my contribution on my ActBlue page, I'll double my contribution; if ten people match it, I'll triple. Details here.
Yesterday extradish matched my contribution to Eric Massa, so today he gets $20 more from me.
John Laesch has a somewhat more urgent need of funds than many of our candidates. Follow me below the fold to find out why.
John, you see, is running in the 14th district of Illionois - that's right, Denny Hastert's old district. Did I say, "old?" Why, yes, I did! Because, you see, the Republican former Speaker has decided he doesn't like to play when he's losing, so he's he may be stepping out of the game early (thanks, Potus2020, for some great information!), giving us a special election.
Let's make it a very special electon - let's help John win it! He got 40% in 2006 against an established, powerful incumbent - and picked up a lot of name recognition along the way. It's a hard district for a Democrat to win - PVI of R+5 - but it's not impossible. And it's a lot easier with our help. John, here's $20 from me; who else wants to help?
