For those of us old enough, do you remember when you trusted the press to do their job? Long before The Daily Show, there was TWTWTW aka TW3, and Laugh-in.
But even more importantly, (some of) the serious press spoke truth to power for us. They informed, but they also spoke FOR THE PEOPLE. They did not choose to defend, spin for a POTUS, 'cause they thought he might be fun to "have a beer with" or because he seemed "macho and manly" and swaggered.
But now we need young men, like John and Dante, to do the job for the millionaire press corps, who are more interested in socializing with the politicians than keeping them honest.
Thank you is in order for these guys...
DISCLAIMER: I do not know any of the vets, nor am I involved with this organization, other than supporting when I can financially.
I just think we owe these guys more than lip service. And I have no idea if Dante is connected to Jon's organization, but he did lose his brother and is a part of GOLD STAR Families.

They have already served, they have already sacrificed themselves as well as friends and family and still they go forward and are doing even more....
THEY are the heroes.
They are the ones we need to turn to for strength and honesty and speaking truth to power.
Once again, I choose to publicly thank these young men for continue to really fight for freedom and for our constitution. They are our voices since the press is no longer willing to do that job. They are speaking out, just as some here are doing or trying to do.
Most people won't know that Bush's bringing home 30,000 troops is a shell game, since he had no choice but to do so. While the mainstream press is barely acknowledging that fact, they continue to reiterate how calling a "military" man is disrespectful.
Just once I want to hear a Millbank, or Matthews, or any of them say, "Well, is "Betray us or Petraeus" any more disrespectful than what the right wing did to Kerry or Cleland?
Of course not.
So since the pundits still are more in league with the right wing rather than challenging them, I am thankful to have these young man taking up the slack and representing us all.
THANKS AGAIN....
