This is a story in pictures.
This morning I did not expect that I would be revealing what I'm revealing now. It's only a sliver of what's being held in reserve, from what I've found while reserching for the Military Religious Freedom Foundation. Something snapped for me today, maybe it was the US Senate's vote authorizing some sort of US military force against Iran...
Where might you expect to see the first picture, below ? - On the website of Focus On The Family, maybe ? Or, perhaps, on any one of thousands of Christian fundamentalist websites that assert the US was founded as a "Christian Nation" and is now going down the toilet, morally and in terms of national stature and power, because it has "walked away from God ?"
The picture:
Well, no....
How about the home page of the Kansas National Gaurd ?
OK, next question:
The following image is from a the website of a Chaplains Office which serves one of the leading bases of the United States military.
When I first encountered the page, which was entitled "Protestant Religious Education", the cross visible in the image, above, was plainly visible. That was, approximately, June 2007.
The only change that has been made to the page since I first found it was this : the slogan "Warriors For Christ" was plastered over the cross-flag. For tech-savvy readers, the original "legionnaire with sword and cross" image is still on the page. The "Warriors For Christ" slogan is another image placed on top of the first image.
Here is the depiction of Protestant Christianity on this particular web page : the dominant depiction.
So, what US military base are these images currently located on ?
Well, "warriors for Christ" from that US military base which sports the web-page, above, may soon be attacking Iran.
I certainly hope not, but those are the stakes :
Religious warfare.
So, what base is that image from ?
Here's the answer.
