So, who is lying, John McCain? Somebody is making up a story here, either you or Thad Cochran, fellow Repugnant.
And why didn't any of the lapdog media ask that question?
I'm just askin'.
From CNN's political tracker:
John McCain says he never acted inappropriately toward a one time associate of Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega, contradicting a recent claim made by one of the Arizona senator's Republican colleagues.
Mississippi Sen. Thad Cochran told his hometown newspaper earlier this week that during a 1987 trip to Central America, he personally witnessed McCain grab an Ortega associate by his shirt collar to lift him out of a chair.
So how did "Grampy Hothead" John Sidney McCain III respond?
Speaking to reporters in Colombia Wednesday, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee flatly denied the report, calling it "simply not true."
"I had many, many meetings with the Sandinistas," McCain said. "I must say, I did not admire the Sandinistas much. But there was never anything of that nature. It just didn't happen."
Really, John? So, either you're lying, right now, to the American people, or Thad Cochran is lying. Frankly, I think that you're fibbing here, but I wouldn't be all that disappointed if Thad Cochran is. One Repugnant liar is just about the same as another as far as I'm concerned, but I'd like to point out some differences in the two men:
Thad Cochran has only been married once. He's also been named Conservationist of the Year in 1996 by the North American Waterfowl Federation and received the Conservation Achievement Award from the National Wildlife Federation. (Those little entries in Cochran's biography blew me out of my chair.) Mr. Cochran also serves on the board of the US Naval Academy, just like Mr. McCain. Obviously, these two men should be interested in their honor and the esteem their word as gentlemen is held.
So, dear friends in the press, why wasn't a question asked of Mr. McCain: "Are you calling Thad Cochran a lier? Why would Mr. Cochran make up these anger management stories about you?"
Or this question of Mr. Cochran: "Why is John McCain lying about you?"
But I guess that would be too difficult a task to expect from our fourth estate. Their mouths are too busy stuffing down barbecue on McCain's bus. So, somebody here is lying. Who is it? I'm just askin.
