About a week ago, I stopped being mad at Obama over FISA and his faith-based foray, and over his comments about the Supreme Court ruling striking down the DC gun ban -- figuring he was putting himself in a stronger political position for the fall. You, know protecting himself against some of the attack ads that would have otherwise played had he taken other positions.
Then, I read Rus Feingold's brilliant critique (posted today) of the bill that passed today, and Senator Dodd's over the weekend, and the NYTs editorial of today ... and, if that wasn't enough Senator Clinton's statement about why she voted "no" on the bill today.
Whew ... disillusionment.
Lots of key people are getting it right and Senator Obama has blinked.
Obama die hards: you are out there in droves. You've fought hard here on Kos against every Obama bashing diary posted over the past few weeks. You've done a great job.
We need you to do us a favor.
Explain to us again why we should let Obama's "FISA" yeah vote today slide. Explain to us why Obama is still "great". We need to hear it. We need to hear it now. We need to be convinced again. Bring our spirits back.
Thank you!
