Hey, I don't automatically sign up for every cool site ... I'm not on Facebook or MySpace, and I've commented much more than I've posted a diary here, these last few months. But I've been reading - voraciously. And I've come to see the importance of DIGG - the "Fierce Urgency of Now" that DIGG so directly provides. Digg down with me over the fold.
I'm posting this as a diary for several reasons:
Now that the worm is turning, the sleeping giant is awakening, and Trad Media's new meme is "McCain is a Liar," anything we do - however small - has value. Each personal action adds up - drop by drop, drip by drip, and Digg by Digg.
At one time, I doubted that I could make a difference on a greater scale, for the greater good. Who am I, after all? Just one tiny person in a sea of humanity ... But then I found Daily Kos, and it changed my life. Literally. I got energized. I sat up and took notice. I saw how many people, of generally like mind and of great spirit, can come together and change the dialogue. Can help that skinny kid with the funny name go places people never dreamed ...
We all know how DIGG can raise up and call attention to a valuable story that Trad Media is too often ignoring. For those who aren't familiar, http://digg.com/ lets us "rec up" a worthy story (and its comments!) so that it gets to the top of Digg's list and gets noticed. Kind of like our Rec List here.

Never underestimate the importance of what one person can do. We can and we should all be "Diggers", as well as Kossacks. One small moment, to make a big difference. Digg, by digg, by digg.
YES WE CAN.
