You knew this was coming.
Clinton in Las Vegas today:
"My leading opponent the other day said that he thought the Republicans had better ideas than Democrats the last 10 to 15 years. That’s not the way I remember the last 10 to 15 years.
"I don’t think it’s a better idea to privatize Social Security. I don’t think it’s a better idea to try to eliminate the minimum wage. I don’t think it’s a better idea to undercut health benefits and to give drug companies the right to make billions of dollars by providing prescription drugs to medicare recipients. I don’t think it’s a better idea to shut down the government, to drive us into debt. I think we know what needs to be done in America and I think we’re ready to do it. And I’m ready to lead on day one, to run this government, to manage this economy."
Additionally, in a conference call today, Rep. Barney Frank had this to say, among other things:
"When I think about the 60s and the 70s, I think about Medicaid, Medicare, the Environmental Protection Agency, Community Development Block Grants...It's astounding to me to have this blanket endorsement of a right wing attack."
Earlier, Obama was attacking Hillary's confusing answer in the debate about the bankruptcy legislation. This seems like a tit-for-tat response. But where Hillary's words can be clarified as "it seemed like a good vote at the time, but in retrospect it wasn't"....I'm not sure how Obama can get around this as a campaign issue.
Your thoughts?
