Bitoks:
1 1/2 lb ground pork - must be ground twice
2 tbsp butter
1 cup chopped onion
1 1/2 cup bread crumbs
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
2 tbsp oil
1/4 tsp paprika
t tbsp red wine vinegar
1/4 cup beef broth
1/4 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup sour cream
4 tsp parsely
- sautee 3/4 cup of onion
- combine cooked onion, egg, milk and meat with 1 cup of bread crumbs, stirring vigorously "until it sings"
- divide into meatballs, then flatten slightly; coat with remaining bread crumbs
- brown thoroughly in oil
- in separate pan, saute remaining onions, add papricka and stir; add vinegar & broth & bring to a boil.
- add cream & sour cream; cook about 1 minute. Sprinkle with parsley.
- serve sauce on the side.
