Is it just me, or does it seem like we're letting the MSM write the narrative of our party once again? Here's a typical quote from the chicken little media:
That fear was also voiced by some neutral Democrats, who said that the former president's aggressive role, as well as the couple's harsh approach recently, threaten to divide the party in the general election.
Who are these neutral Democrats anyway? Here's a newsflash for "Neutral" Democrats and the MSM. Brace yourself... CANDIDATES DISAGREE DURING PRIMARY SEASON. Shocking, isn't it?
Here's some more shocking news. Obama, who happens to be my candidate of choice, also happens to be - gasp - black! Oh my! And Hillary is a Woman!
Let's set the record straight. If Hillary wins the nomination, African Americans will support her. Likewise, if Obama wins, Democratic women and whites will support him. What's the alternative? Will black Obama supporters turn to the GOP? Of course not. The GOP won't even show up to a debate hosted by those people.
The leading contenders for the Republican nomination have indicated they will not attend the "All American Presidential Forum" organized by black talk show host Tavis Smiley, scheduled for Sept. 27 at Morgan State University in Baltimore and airing on PBS. Former New York mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani, former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, former senator Fred D. Thompson (Tenn.) and Sen. John McCain (Ariz.) all cited scheduling conflicts in forgoing the debate. The top Democratic contenders attended a similar event in June at Howard University.Washington Post
Edwards, Clinton and Obama are all fine candidates and each have done and will do more for women and minorities than any republican (indluding Alan Keyes). We're not tearing ourselves apart. We happen to be participating in a little thing called democracy.
Don't feed the Republicans and validate their Bizarro narrative that Dems are divided on Race and Gender. Our candidates are concerned with real issues facing Women and Minorities: pay inequality, poverty, discrimination, voter supression, education, justice, equal opportunity, housing, etc. Republicans like Mitt Romney sees the plight of black people in America and asks, "Who let the dogs out?...."
To note the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, he told several predominantly white audiences that King showed "how to bring down some of the barriers to fulfill the promise of the Declaration of Independence." And he posed for photos and shook hands with black families at a parade in Jacksonville.
"Who let the dogs out? Who? Who?" Romney called out, singing the chorus of a popular song while posing with children at the parade. Aides said he made the impromptu remark after a child asked him, "Who let you out?"
Admiring a child's gold necklace, Romney said, "You've got some bling-bling, too." http://www.boston.com/...
We may all disagree which one of our oustanding candidates will best serve the needs of women and minority constituents. That's not disagreement, that's an embarassment of riches.
The GOP agrees to ignore and belittle those constituents and then argue about who hates brown "illegals" more. That's not unity, that's a disgrace.
