Of course it matters but not in the political sense.
If a doctor lies to you about your diagnosis to make insurance money, botches the unneeded surgery, lies about THAT, doesn't let other doctors look at you and then finally stops the bleeding just before you become Terry Schiavo, do I thank that guy?
No, I don't thank him. I spend all my energy getting his license revoked and use any excuse I can find, even if its just that he shot his friend in the face while drunk. I would use the fact that he had a gay escort visit his house 200 times, even if I didn't care if he was gay or not.
If a doctor did to me what the Bush Republicans have done to Iraq I would stop at nothing to make sure he never practiced medicine again. I would even go so far as making sure that anyone who defended him lost their license just to make sure these knuckleheads were far away from a patient.
So while I hope that the violence in Iraq subsides and that all foreign soldiers can leave, I certainly am not going to applaud the quacks that removed the wrong leg just because they needed more billable hours.
