Which match up do you prefer? McCain looks like he's got this GOP nomination just about wrapped up. He's got the juice right now. So we might as well begin the conversation about who on the Democratic side can actually beat him.
Clinton:
Pros
She could benefit from the name recognition she has. And she could benefit from the good will her husband built up in the Hispanic community. She might win votes based on her gender and the historic nature of her candidacy. Also, the economic concerns might tend to favor her.
Cons
GOP hatred....enough said! Plus, McCain would have a better chance of winning over Independents needed in a general election.
Obama:
Pros
He has youth, charisma, intelligence, and oratory....all the characteristics of our most successful recent Democratic Presidents (JFK, Bill Clinton). He represents change in a change election. And he can compete with McCain for indie votes.
Obama's Biggest Plus: Obama's youth and vigor will be a great contrast against senior-citizen McCain. Young vs. Old, Senior Citizen vs. Rock Star.
Cons
Obama's lack of experience in a national election could make him accident prone. Plus, McCain will definitely tout his superior experience over Obama.
What do you think? Let's start the conversation before Feb. 5, because after that, we might be stuck with a nominee.
