Greetings, Friends...
This will be a quick diary, as I am late. As you all know, I am an Obama supporter. I volunteer many hours and much money, and I am proud to participate in the audacity that his candidacy is. However, today, I am extremely depressed...
I did not become an Obama supporter easily. His eloquence, his intelligence, his judgement moved me extensively. His insistence that nothing would change unless the American people became engaged inspired me. However, there was another candidate who moved me.
He moved me with his policies, primarily his healthcare proposal. He moved me with a foundation to tackle poverty. He moved me with his recognition that powerful special interests must be taken on ferociously if they are going to give up their power.
I never thought his confrontational approach would catch on, but I agreed with it none the less.
I had always hoped that this would be a two person race. And now it will be...
But not how I envisioned it. And now I am depressed.
So my sincerest thanks goes out to John Edwards and his family. My thanks goes out to his tireless supporters who focused not on John's past mistakes, but on his compelling vision of the future.
I will do everything in my power as a Democratic activist to keep John Edwards' policies alive and well in the Democratic platform.
Again, Thanks John, your voice will be missed more than you know.
