I did not support Edwards in the presidential primary, but I have always had great respect him as a person and a politician. Now that he is dropping out, I want to make it clear to whoever wins the Democratic primary (whoever wins that will likely win the general election also), that there is one cabinet appointment that is an absolute no-brainer:
The next Attorney General of the United States has to be John Edwards.
The last time we had someone this qualified and possessing the passion to really do something great with the job was when we had Bobby Kennedy.
John Edwards is not only a fantastic politician, but he is also a fantastic lawyer.
Exactly the type of lawyer we need to prosecute the Halliburtons and Enrons and Blackwaters of the world, as well as the former members of the Bush Administration for their numerous crimes.
Obama can be the new John Kennedy, and Edwards will be Bobby. I like the thought of that.
