Remember during the South Carolina Primaries when all three (when there were still three) tripped over themselves to promote how well they did head to head against John McCain?
Well all three are losing to the senile old gasbag that never met a war he didn't like.

Sad speculation: If we had to place a bet today, we would bet that the Dem nominee will lose next November’s White House election.

Ever get the feeling you've been had?
I remember in 2004 when Dean seemed to be headed for the Democratic nomination. Then Lisa Myers "unearthed" Dean's comments criticizing the Iowa caucus. The Club for Growth ran their ads labeling Dean as a Volvo driving liberal, and every columnist in the Washington Post wrote about how unfit Dean was. Dean came in 3rd in Iowa. Then the media played the scream non-stop for 48 hours and the dream was dead. Thank God we came to our senses and averted that disaster and got Mr. Electable himself John Kerry to take back the White House.
Then he was swiftboated in August and the Dems lost yet another Presidential election that seemed so within reach.
Same thing happened in 2000 when the media stressed what a serial liar Gore was and what an upstanding citizen Bradley was. The Dem Primary voters didn't buy it, but the 2 years of media propaganda were enough to stop Gore from getting enough votes to retain the White House.
So, Right Wing Corporate Media's M.O.-slime Dem frontrunner from the beginning. If frontrunner gets nomination, 2 years of lies will be enough to tip the balance to the Republican. If Dem frontrunner falters, slime the new Dem nominee for 6 months, that along with weak new support gained at the last minute in the primaries will be enough for another Republican victory. Heads Republicans win, tails Democrats lose.
It is happening this year, but we are too busy defending/attacking Clinton or Obama (I have been just as guilty as anyone else on these boards) to have noticed while we fight for the one "true" defender of the Faith, the other side is already circling the wagons. The side that is supposed to be the impartial observer is constantly tipping the scales in favor of the Republicans. Vote for which candidate floats your boat, but don't assume that either will be able to withstand the media tilt towards the Republican candidate, especially when it is St. John.
I know half a dozen Democratic friends that will not vote for Clinton if she gets the nomination, and I know another half dozen that will not vote for Obama if he gets it. It may not be representative, but I think the Dems have a real problem on their hands in the general election.
The media has gotten their wish and branded Clinton as the "racist" "woman" candidate, and Obama as the "victim" "african-american" candidate. In a general election no one is going to want to vote for the "racist" or the "victim". If Obama wins, I don't think many people will realize they were manipulated into voting for him out of sympathy. They may not really care much for him and be voting against Clinton, akin to Kerry's ascension. If Clinton wins she will be damaged goods in the general election, because many will view her as undeserving of the nomination.
Congratulations to all Kossacks for feeding into this BS narrative (again I apologize for my own guilt). I am not stating we should stop debating the two candidates, but we probably shouldn't so readily buy into the media's frames. Why have we been so skeptical of the media in the past in all facets, but accepted anything that was negative about Clinton or Obama, especially their motives?
The media is going to fluff Straight-Talking Maverick St. John from now until November. I think the Dems can pick up quite a few seats in the House and Senate, and somehow not get the White House.
Any ideas how to derail the bamboozle express that is the RWCM feeding us John McCain?
