I know it is WAYYY too early to start this type of speculation, but what good is a diary entry without some baseless supposition? But I digress...
ASSUMING that Obama's bounce from Iowa is indeed significant and long lasting, and ASSUMING that he holds on to win the lion's share of delegates and secure the nomination, what are the odds that he offers the VP slot to Edwards?
Would Obama even make this offer, given Edwards' failed attempt to win as VP candidate with Kerry in '04?
Would Edward even accept this offer, given issues of pride and possible embarrassment at being branded as the "perennial" VP candidate?
Or, do the two candidates have such differing platforms (in that Obama is not really a populist candidate) that this question is pointless to begin with?
On another topic, if not Edwards, then who would be a likely Obama choice for VP?
