What change means in this election is unique to each of us. But there are common elements that are included in everyones definition. Such as the return of justice, health care for all, economic sanity and the end of imperialism, to name a few.
The big three Democratic candidates want to make these changes for our country. But the method each one would use is dramatically different.
Follow me beyond the fold for an oversimplified analysis.
Hillary Clinton
She was molded by her work on the Nixon impeachment. Jaded by the Health Care debacle. Toughened by the relentless persecution by the Right Wing Attack Machine and MSM during the Clinton presidency. She learned there are great forces to be dealt with if you wish to accomplish anything in Washington, you must be able to play the game, so she became a consummate inside player.
There is no doubt in her mind that this is what is needed to make these changes.
And there is no doubt she is correct.
Barack H. Obama
He was molded by his childhood. Clarity from teaching Constitutional Law. Skills from Illinois politics. He learned that organization guided by hope can create a majority coalition of the population. To accomplish anything in Washington you must have the mandate of the people.
There is no doubt in his mind that this is what is needed to make these changes.
And there is no doubt he is correct.
John Edwards
He was molded by his childhood. Jaded by his practice. Toughened by the 2004 campaign. He learned that to accomplish anything against the powers that be was to be relentless. To have courage against insurmountable odds. To make those pay, and pay dearly, that have done wrong.
There is no doubt in his mind that this is what is needed to make these changes.
And there is no doubt he is correct.
And there is no doubt they are all wrong. Our country needs ALL these attributes in our leadership to accomplish the changes we so desperately need. The good thing is we cannot go wrong. The bad thing is we only get one.
If only we could have all three in the Executive branch.(plus the Gov) If only.
Think about this as we alienate each other.
