The word Menikmati means "to enjoy" in Malay.
The great people of New Hampshire got a chance to enjoy the great privledge of going to the polls to let America know who their delegates should support. The rest of America could only stand on the sidelines and observe the race from their TV and Computer terminals. I know I would've enjoyed it if Super Tuesday was yesterday, but I guess I have to enjoy the process until the States can bring my Primary fantasy to life.
Hilary Clinton certainly enjoyed her tenure in New Hampshire. Twenty-four hours ago, MSNBC was showing footage of Clinton getting choked up when fielding questions concerning her campaign. The Anti-Hillary crowd tasted blood and ran with it flaunting Obama's 12 point lead in polls. They did taste blood Tuesday morning, but little did they know...it was their own.
Women of New Hampshire didn't enjoy the debates where Obama and Edwards tag teamed poor Hillary into frustration. They didn't enjoy the Bill Clinton bumbled quotes repeated ad-nausem by Joe Scarborough after every commercial break. They didn't enjoy the mocking of Hillary showing her first sign of vulnerability in 20 years. They took up arms and rallied around the wounded Senator. Her supporters flew in to flood the media with their kind words to counter the poison being spewed over the airwaves.
If my television had feelings, it wouldnt've enjoyed the verbage I used to express my displeasure with the results. Besides a flustered response and a few tears from a weary candidate, I don't understand the message Hilary is trying to convey. Her message has taken on the skin of a chameleon and that doesn't sit very well with me. Her corporate interests not interesting me and her attacks don't move me to see life from her perspective.
I don't enjoy Hillary's sheep going out on talk radio in frail, vulnerable voices speaking about how Obama was intimidated in the debate, how he has no foriegn policy experience. Can you show me Hillary Clinton's foriegn policy experience outside of Bill Clinton? Barack Obama was elected state senator in Illinois in 1996! Being on the State Senate isn't real experience, but being the first lady is? If that's the case then I look forward to rallying against Jenna Bush in 2012 because she's going to be a juggernault thanks to her experience as First Daughter and keg stand activist.
What I do enjoy are the Wednesday morning headlines are writing on the wall. "STUNNING UPSET!" "COMEBACK WIN FOR HILLARY!". Obama can claim the victory of going toe to toe with a woman who had a 20 point margin in DECEMBER and coming within 7,000 votes of securing another loss for the Clinton camp. Obama even with this narrow loss is still in the drivers' seat for the races ahead. He needs to rally his base and not take Hillary lightly. She can't enjoy the effects of showing emotion twice, can she?
I rolled my eyes at the not so enjoyable picture painted by a friend who said Hillary is the George Bush of the left. I think Hillary has a few good qualities which is more than I can say for Bush. I don't want her to lead the country, but if somehow Giuliani recieves the GOP nomination I might have to rethink that position.
We enjoy another day in this country surveying the events of yesterday and how it effects tomorrow. Enjoy democracy at it's finest as we take action and take part in shaping our world. Because a year from now, a Democrat placing his or her hand on a bible will be a sight that myself and the rest of the free world will enjoy for years to come.
