Hello everyone from a long time lurker.
I would like to share something I heard at work today. Apparently America is not ready to elect a woman. Why you ask. Because she's a woman. One of my coworkers opined that America would rush to the polls come November and vote for the Republican candidate even if they disagree with everything he might stand for, because they will not let a woman run this country.
I have mixed feelings about the Hillary campaign. I myself would rather have Obama or Edwards win the Democratic nomination. But we have to face the possibility that Hillary will win. For many of us this will not be the first time our first choice, or second, does not get the nod. But no matter how strongly we might feel about our loss we need to be able to get it together as fast as possible. I know some here might not feel this way but any Democrat as president would be much better than any of the Republicans.
They are going to through everything they can at her, all 200+ years of American misogyny. And we, the voices of change, must stand firm and push them back at every opportunity. Personally, I want to disprove the opinions of my coworker. America is ready for a woman. So I ask again. No complaining. If it happens and Hillary is the choice, lets get behind her and make her a juggernaut. Let us show them we are ready to take back our country.
I don't write much, be kind.
Update-Changed misogyny to sexism.
