This is pretty funny. RCP's founder is a conservative hack, John McIntyre. I don't know much about him, but I heard him a few days ago on the Dennis Miller show. He was complaining about Palin's enemies, talking about Biden's devestating "coal" gaffe that "could lose PA for Obama" (uh sure)
Anyway, I like their site. It has a lot of links and lists all the polls. For whatever reason, they've never listed ARG polls this election season. I know Nate Silver doesn't think the world of ARG. Of note, RCP also doesn't include Kos' tracker, but does include the state polls.
Now, as some may know, ARG is the only polling outfit lately that thinks McCain is doing well. But they aren't listed on ARG...until now! I just looked the VA state polls, and I thought that Obama's margin was a little lower than it should be, given that CNN just released a big Obama lead in VA.
Then I saw why:
RCP Average 09/17 - 09/30 -- 48.8 46.3 Obama +2.5
CNN/Time 09/28 - 09/30 684 LV 53 44 Obama +9
InAdv/PollPosition 09/29 - 09/29 436 LV 51 45 Obama +6
FOX News/Rasmussen 09/28 - 09/28 500 LV 50 47 Obama +3
ARG 09/27 - 09/29 600 LV 46 49 McCain +3
NBC/Mason-Dixon 09/17 - 09/22 625 LV 44 47 McCain +3
ABC News/Wash Post 09/18 - 09/21 698 LV 49 46 Obama +3
I know it's their site and they can do what they want. But it just is hilarious how scared they are getting. They probably realize that 75% of their traffic is right wing based, and they need to try anything to keep the audience captivated.
