I was chatting with someone over on Fark.com (he goes by DamnYankees both here and there) about Obama's various speeches. So I thought I'd go back and watch them again.
So I got to thinking, with the election coming up quickly, a video timeline of how we got to where we are now might be good to re-psych our side. A little more energy to accomplish Kos's goal of crushing the right wing's spirits.
After watching all of these again, it strikes me that the best parts of all of Obama's speeches tend to be toward the end. So if you are pressed for time, feel free to jump toward the end.
The beginning: Obama at the 2004 Democratic Convention. There is not a Red America and a Blue America, there is the United States of America.
Next, Obama announces his candidacy at Springfield, Illinois.
Then we had Obama's first victory speech, in Iowa. When the improbable became inevitable.
And the soul-stirring concession speech in New Hampshire (my favorite). Yes. We. Can.
Victory in South Carolina. Don't tell me we can't change.
From MLK's church, on the eve of MLK day. "I'm here because of Ashley".
And on to Philadelphia and A More Perfect Union. This nation is more than the sum of its parts. From many, we are one.
Upon clinching the nomination, Obama addresses his HQ staff. Because we won, we have to win.
And finally, Obama accepts the Democratic nomination for President of the United States of America. We're not ready to take a 10% chance on change.
Oh what the hell. A bonus video. Just for fun.
Anyway, just thought remembering how we got here might remind us where we are going.
