In an possibly unintentional reference to slavery of the past in which the white overseer would whip a slave for insubordination, McCain had this to say to his volunteers at his Virginia headquarters:
“After I whip his you-know-what in this debate, we’re going to be going out 24/7,” he says of his and Palin’s campaigning.
"We're a couple points down, OK, nationally, but we're right in this game," McCain said to cheers. "The economy has hurt us a little bit in the last week or two, but in the last few days we've seen it come back up because they want experience, they want knowledge and they want vision. We'll give that to America."
Er, John McCain? It may not be wise at all to use the word "whip" in reference to the first black Presidential candidate, and your recent crowds that've shouted racial epithets and other incendiary statements whenever you mention the name "Obama" at your hate rallies.
I don't think you really should go on the record as saying you'll whip Obama's ass in the debate on Wednesday night. That just.....I don't know, feeds the press more? And brings back into the newscycle all the racist coding of your campaign strategies? Is that what you really want, John McCain?
And by the way, it's Obama who's going to whip your fat, pustuled ass in that debate, like he did in the first two debates.
Especially since the topic of the last debate will be on the economy. That's not your forte, John McCain, as we've all seen in the polls.
Go ahead, and raise the expectations for your "much-vaunted" winning shot in the final debate. Let's see if it works.
