This is going to be short and to the point. The GREAT guys over at TalkingPointsMemo.com have a video up of an interview with the little old lady who called Barack Obama an Arab terrorists a few days ago. By her own words she was helped along in her line of thinking by people working in the McCain campaign office. According to this woman she has taken information she recieved from them or from their direction and reproduced it and sent it out to others. She herself describes her work as being a volunteer for the McCain campaign. There can be no better proof that John McCain and his campaign are endorsing and are in no small part behind these baseless personal smears on Barack Obama's background and character.
Just to clarify the video is not the video from the other night of the woman asking John McCain if Barack Obama is an Arab terrorist. Its video of an interview she gave AFTER asking that question. You have to see this!
It is bad enough when you see Sarah Palin going around saying Barack Obama is palling around with terrorists and McCain surrogates trying to restate the same thing as recently as yesterday. But to know that people holding official positions with the McCain campaign are pushing the chain email type smears in their door to door canvasing is just reprehensible!
We must DEMAND that the MSM follow up on this story. Karen Tumulty has a story up over on the Swampland blog right now that echos the sentiment that the campaign offices of John McCain are repeating the chain email talking points. John McCain can not run from the actions of his minions and he can't explain this kind of behavior away by claiming Barack Obama is playing the race card. These are people under his official banner classifying Barack Obama as a muslim and trying to link him to Osama Bin Ladin among other things. I don't care if I get the credit or get rec'd or anything else but I DO want this message to get out to the masses. Please forward this information to all of your friends so they can see that there is absolute proof of the irresponsible behavior of the McCain campaign.

With so much at stake, and time running short, [Virginia Republican Party Chairman Jeff] Frederick did not feel he had the luxury of subtlety. He climbed atop a folding chair to give 30 campaign volunteers who were about to go canvassing door to door their talking points — for instance, the connection between Barack Obama and Osama bin Laden: "Both have friends that bombed the Pentagon," he said. "That is scary." It is also not exactly true — though that distorted reference to Obama's controversial association with William Ayers, a former 60s radical, was enough to get the volunteers stoked. "And he won't salute the flag," one woman added, repeating another myth about Obama. She was quickly topped by a man who called out, "We don't even know where Senator Obama was really born." Actually, we do; it's Hawaii.
By the way the Chairman in question STANDS BY HIS WORDS!!!

Yesterday, Frederick said he stood by the comparison, even though bin Laden planned the Sept. 11, 2001, attack on the Pentagon that killed 184 people and Obama was a child and hadn't met Ayers when the Weather Underground planted a bomb at the Pentagon in 1972. No one was hurt in that blast, in which a bomb exploded in a restroom and caused flooding and damage to computer tapes containing classified information.
And John McCain won't say Frederick was wrong!!!

WARREN: "WE HAVE A COUPLE OF SECOND REMAINING, THE CHAIR OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY IN VIRGINIA HAS SAID, QUOTE IN TIME MAGAZINE, "BOTH BARACK OBAMA AND OSAMA BIN LADEN HAVE FRIENDS THAT HAVE BOMBED THE PENTAGON. THAT IS SCARY." IS THAT APPROPRIATE FOR A STATE PARTY CHAIR TO BE SAYING?"
MCCAIN: "I have to look at the context of his remarks. I have always repudiated any comments that have been made that were inappropriate about Senator Obama. The fact is that William Ayers was a terrorist and bomber and unrepentant. I don't care about that. But, Sen. Obama ought be the candid and truthful about his relationship with Mr. Ayers in whose living room Sen. Obama launched his campaign and Sen. Obama said he was just a guy in the neighborhood."
