Here's the simple version:
I have no money but have been writing, blogging, calling and canvassing my butt off for Obama for months. The latest racial hatred stirred up by McCain-Palin should disqualify them both from holding their current offices, much less ascending to the White House. At the same time, we need to build a new, green economy to replace the resource-depleting, exploitative system we have in place now.
I'm on the host committee for a Green Fundraiser for Obama in Harlem tomorrow, Tuesday Oct 14 (featuring Majora Carter), and I'd like your help in closing the fundraising gap. If you give, please put "BARATUNDE" in the memo/note portion of the donation form, even if you can't make it to Harlem.
Let's send a strong message to both McCain and Obama.

I've been invited and am honored to accept a position on the host committee of The Green Apple Fundraiser for the Obama Victory Fund at the Kalahari in Harlem next Tuesday night. Harlem4Obama is sponsoring the event and has a great lineup of speakers.
Given this blog's focus on both black and, increasingly, green (energy, development, jobs), I'm inviting anyone in the NY area to attend and everyone else to give what you can to the campaign through this event.
