Early Voting began in NC this morning and will continue until November 1st. Here's a glimpse from the ground.
Update: Just to share this informative and timely diary by SneakySnu with early reports out by NC media:

There were 50 voters lined up to cast there votes for change at our early voting site here in the triangle before the polls even opened.
My role was to make sure voters understood that voting a straight party ticket does not include a vote for president (or the non partisan judges races). Make the "Obama Straight Flip" is the message we are getting out. Here's a video we produced to explain early voting in NC:

Having a sample ballot "in hand" to talk with voters was very effective in getting folks to understand the little quirk regarding this process.
This will need to be a brief diary as I am on break and need to get back out there. But here's a few observations:
- Everybody is voting for Obama - Biden. We have had 350 voters from 9:30 to noon and absolutely every single one came out to support Obama.
- We have been selling Obama Yard signs to lots of folks coming out of the polling station which provides an opportunity to get more exposure in the community, tell folks about yet another regional office we have set up and about our planned rally and march on Saturday. Oh - and signing up more volunteers.
It is such an emotional time here for folks in NC. The triangle is a blue dot in this heretofore red state, but when you see voters coming out with tears in their eyes after voting for change, well, it's just an unbelieveable experience.
What incredible times we live in.
It's as if we are creating a new "family" within our community. And I am honored to be a part of it and to witness it and to share it with fellow Kossacks.
Peace.
