"So North Carolina, I appreciate you all so much, who are here who already get it. You know, maybe I'm preaching to the choir a little bit here, but being here encourages me because I know that I'm not alone and I'll send this message back to John McCain also. At those times on the campaign trail when sometimes it's easy to get a little bit discouraged, when, you know, when you happen to turn on the news when your campaign staffers will let you turn on the news," she said, prompting laughter from the group. "Usually they're like 'Oh my gosh, don't watch. You're going to, you know, you're going to get depressed.'
"But yes, sometimes you do get depressed watching what it is that they're reporting and the spin and some of the distortion of what our message is and what we stand for. Sometimes that, that gets draining," she continued. "But it's at events like these and our rallies that we are so energized and inspired and we know that we are not alone. We feel your strength and we feel the power of prayer, so many of you tell us that you are praying for us and praying for our country and that's why we so appreciate you being here."

"Palin also attributed polling numbers to God."
While I'm no Theologian, I'll go out on a limb here and say that God doesn't like racists, doesn't care much for suppression/disrespect of minorities and the less well-to-do. He probably isn't a big fan of gutter politics, either. I'll further suggest that, IF God has a favorite in this race, he's pulling for that one, the caring one.
Maybe she got depressed watching herself out in New Hampshire telling the people how happy she was to be there in the great northwest. She was booed again. Maybe she got depressed when someone finally had the guts to ask McCain about his paling around with Libby. Thank you Letterman!
McCain picked her with as much thought as he planted Joe the plumber who is not a plumber in the debate who also owes back taxes and a hospital bill. Both have liens on his house. Palin's God would not be very proud of all their lies. I suppose the witch doctor will cleanse her again in her church.
So Sarah, does your God encourage you to whip up hatred and fear in those rallies you run? Do you care at all that some insane man with a gun could do harm to Senator Obama or his family? Would you shed a tear? No, you would not.
You are not an intelligent woman. You are street smart. You know how to direct a wink to the camera and wave to the crowd as you did in that beauty contest. But our country's future is at stake. If you truly loved this country - and you do not, which is illustrated by your support this year for the Alaska Independent Party - you would not have accepted McCain's invitation to run with him. You would have know that this was a trick played on an uninformed, passive public that responds only to pretty faces and 30 second sound bites. If anything happens to Senator Obama, you can thank yourself. Then you will need our prayers. Unless, of course, your God promotes violence and hatred.
This woman has only been on the campaign trail for 2 months and she is depressed? She needs to go back to Alaska. She clearly does not have what it takes to be considered for the Vice Presidency of this country.
As far as keeping her isolated from the press; this is only so that she doesn't continue to make stupid comments and cause John McCain to drop in the polls more. I am all for a woman becoming President or VP, but this is clearly not the one I want breaking our glass ceiling. Taking a huge pass until next one comes along.
