My snail-mail ballot all looked fine until I sealed it and saw the name on the ballot. It was almost my name, but not quite. The changed middle initial is enough to disqualify my ballot. And yours too if it happens to you. Check your envelope inside and out, top to bottom, left to right. Make sure it's you and not some sound alike or look alike name on your ballot before you mail it in.
My name is Eric F. Canzler and I live in Snohomish county Washington. I have never used any other name or alias or nickname in my life. I got my mail-in ballot today and filled it out. After I put it in the final outside envelope I noticed the name printed on the outside envelope was Eric M Canzler. Where did that "M" for middle initial come from? I have no idea, but I am positive it is encoded in the bar codes on the ballot. This is exactly how republicans deny your vote. I don't even know if the ballot is real or fake, but it sure looks real and it came on the same day as the Washington state voter guide.
So what do you think is going on here? Do they think I am a fool and won't notice? It almost worked. I won't mail it in. I will go to the polls and vote in person if I am allowed to. I registered long ago and I've checked my voter registration status online. Everything indicates I am allowed to vote. But I am suspicious after so many years of republican rule and election fraud.
Remember, Washington was the state where Dino Rossi initially won Governer over Christine Gregoire, but after the recount Gregoire won by ~2 votes, then ~20 votes, then even more votes in the third recount. I don't remember the exact numbers, but something like that. After that the republicans sued for voter fraud and it went to court in Wenatchee. During the course of that trial, almost all republican contested ballots were exonerated (PO box mailing address is valid in apartment complexes). Then they discovered several bags of uncounted votes from heavily democratic precincts that just happened to be discarded "by mistake." Yeah, thats the ticket. In the end Gregoire won by thousands of uncounted votes and hundreds of misconted votes.
Now I find my name is incorrect in a way that cannot be an accident. The letter "M" is nowhere near "F" on the keyboard. I don't have anything resembling "M" anywhere in my name, except the "n" in the middle of my last name. I've never had a nickname, so that can't be it. Eric F. Canzler cannot be misspelled Eric M. Canlzer by mistake. I am convinced it has to be a deliberate attempt to invalidate my vote.
So what should I do?
