Yesterday you expressed concern that Senator Obama's prodigious fund raising could lead to scandal. It is true that the public finance system was instituted to stem the abuses that resulted in the Watergate Scandal. In those days lobbyists gave money to Nixon expecting quid pro quos. Well I have donated to Senator Obama. I am currently disabled and have contributed about $700.00 I plan on giving more. I confess that I do expect somethings in return for my donation. I guess that means that I am trying to buy influence just like all of the lobbyists who work for your campaign.
First I expect President Obama to end the quagmire which you and your friend Gorge Bush created in Iraq. You were itching for a war with Iraq right after the terrorist attacks of September 1th. You told us it would be a simple operation and was necessary because Saddam had something to do with 9/11. It turns out that you were wrong and now over 4100 American soldiers are dead. I expect President Obama to clean up your mess honorably and quickly.
I also expect President Obama to restore our good name in the world. America used to be seen as the hope of the world., Now we are despised. That does not mean I expect Obama to be weak and vacillate. I expect him to support and consult our allies and not just inform them what we are going to do next. I expect him to try to bring peace to the Middle East so that my fellow Jews could live in peace in Israel even if it means he has to at times disagree with Israel's policies. I expect him to deal with our large trade deficits and not ignore the problem.
I expect President Obama to revitalize the American economy. You have helped give away our treasury to those most fortunate--sort of a reverse Robin Hood. That has to stop. Through out history civilizations have fallen because of such policies. Ancient Rome is an example of this fact. Thus I expect my donation to buy influence for the middle class and the poor. Th rich already have enough tribunes in government.
Finally I expect President Obama to set a new tone in Washington. He must end the slime that your party has propagated over the last eight years. We must come together as a people if we are to solve the problems that your party has left us.
Therefor you can see I expect a big return on my investment. I demand a future for this country. I demand that history dos not write of our time as the decline of America. I demand change and competence.
Very truly yours,
Jeffrey F. Kohan
P.S. Let Senator McCain here what you expect for your contribution to President Obama.
