Well not really.
This is only the second time I've ever created a diary here, so please be kind.
Colin Powell's made a very intelligent and considered endorsement of Barack Obama. In doing so, he gave his reasons as to why he is voting for Obama and why he isn't voting for McCain. Now the attacks have begun. Rush has stated that the only reason Powell endorsed Obama is because they are both black. It made me think about why I am voting for my candidate.
I am voting for the candidate who is a Christian like I am and shares my Christian values.
I am voting for the candidate who believes in being a good husband like I do.
I am voting for the candidate who believes that it is important to to be a good father as I try to be.
I am voting for the candidate who cares about other other people and their problems.
I am voting for the candidate who is trying to bring this country together, rather than tear it apart.
I am voting for the candidate who keeps a cool head when faced with a crisis rather than resorting to political stunts every other week.
I am voting for the candidate who cares more about issues than name calling.
The one reason I am not voting for my candidate is because of race, even though both of us have white mothers.
I am voting for Barack Obama.
