When the phone caller ID listed a Texas number and marketing -- I wondered, was I about to get polled.
Yes indeed. It was a robo call poll and I was thankful I had just read yesterday this wonderful story about this kind of polling. Coincidentally, at work today I was discussing whether people tend to hang up on these kinds of polls.

It was not a presidential preference poll per se. See below for details.
The important questions were whether I thought Powell made his endorsement based on race and whether I was concered about the money Obama was spending. The computer voice asked me how important such endorsements are.
Other questions sought my view on the economy (was there a recession, how long did I think it would last, was I confident my job would last, etc.)
And of course the question dealing with my opinion on George Bush. The survey did not ask if I were a Democrat, Republican or Independent.
