Maine's 2nd congressional district? Ya know, Moose-hunting country in a state that splits Electoral Votes? Ad spending is being cut by half there.
In Wisconsin and Minnesota? Same thing.
New Hampshire? The site of McCain's resurrection and Obama's harshest lesson? Ditto.
Colorado? Uuhuh.
The New York Times quotes operatives in the know; ad space bought for next week in those five states will instead be spread out throughout the next two weeks.
This is essentially a quiet retreat without the heart-break of surrender in Michigan. Time magazine confirms that the McCain campaign's ads are being curtailed in Wisconsin and New Hampshire in the same way described by the New York Times. This all comes after CNN's John King broke the news that the McCain campaign is making tough choices about Colorado.
So, to recap, the McCain campaign is cutting their ad buys in half in the following states;
Colorado
Minnesota
Wisconsin
New Hampshire
Maine
Iowa and New Mexico have been written off by everyone as Obama states were McCain has failed to gain traction or build a ground game. And, of course, there's heart-breaking Michigan.
Boo-yah.
So, seriously; they're banking on Pennsylvania to win?
