By now most people in the world have seen "The Dark Knight", that multi-million dollar movie sequel about a man with an old dept to pay for the parents he feels guilty about letting die. The story was much more in dept than "Batman Begins", especially with the introduction of Harvey Dent.
Harvey Dent is the new District Attorney with a passion for justice in the most corrupt city in the world. Batman and he team up to stop the underworld and, well, he ends up going bad, like serial killer bad. But the image of what Dent stood for is what is important. The whole movie is based off of a graphic novel called "Batman; The Long Halloween", a distubing tail about passion gone wrong by the want to stop the bad guy.
The city of Gotham was in love with Harvey Dent, they wanted to be saved and healed from a long, dark time of criminality that seemed unstoppable. People ran amok with extraodinary powers, officails were comprimised. Sounds like our goverment, huh? Along come a golden haired man of princible, "The Golden Boy", as the news papers in the comics called him. A man who is passionate, driven, focused.
The story is not about us as America, not even close. But the passion that the residents of Gotham felt for that man was incredible. They needed him more than they wanted him. I have a lot of emotion invested in this election. I have never voted before, I am a veteran of Iraq, and I am hurting fincially because of the certian policy's I am not in control of. Harvey Dent had a slogan that fit on a button or a banner. I will use that slogan now to say what I feel, because it carries a weight most people don't know how to express. Harvey Dent had Buttons that said "I Believe In Harvey Dent."
I Believe In Barack Obama.
