Wow. I couldn't make this up if I tried.
GOP candidate Steve Stivers opened up a opened up a campaign office here in Columbus.
Here's some fun facts about it:
- It's in a former payday lender office.
- It's next to strip club.
More details below...
The payday lender bit is in the blurb put out by the Franklin County in the link above. What's ironic about this is the fact that in this election cycle in Ohio, there is an Issue on the ballot regarding payday lenders. Issue 5 is a referendum on an existing law that prevent payday lenders from charging stupid high interest rates on short term loans. It's a great law that was passed last year (with HUGE bi-partisan support). But the short-term loan industry hates it because they can no longer give 300% loans. They've sunk $15 million in a campaign trying to people to vote NO (which would reverse the law).
Enjoy their misleading crap here: http://ohioans4financialfreedom.com/ Feel free to let them know what you think of predatory loans. Please.
Now on to the part about the strip club.

It is literally right across the street.
Funny, no?
Except if you through thisin the mix:
The state champion girls volleyball team of Mercy High School in Cincinnati was in the Senate chamber recently to receive a resolution recognizing their accomplishment.
They had gathered around State Sen. Eric Kearney, D-Cincinnati, causing fellow Sen. Steve Stivers, R-Columbus, to comment that Kearney "attracts all the attractive women."
Reminded that he had just returned from his honeymoon after marrying the former Karen Tabor two weeks earlier, Stivers backpedaled.
"I’m allowed to window shop, just not buy," he said.
Seriously, dude? You can windowshop high school girls? Heck - you should just head over to the strip club next to your campaign office instead.
Please support Mary Jo Kilroy instead of this guy.
PS: Stivers is a former lobbyist, too.
