Come on folks, give a large group of struggling Democratic activists in Texas a hand. There is a group of us spanning the vast state of Texas that have been working day and night to send Rick to Washington. We’re grassroots every day folks who have given as much as our little piggy banks hold. And our go to Big Dogs are maxed out.
We cannot take 6 more years of a right winger who serves as the puppet for the fat cats in big oil, big insurance, big banking and big everything with money.
And neither can you.
Why?
If elected John Cornyn will block every single thing a Democratic President and Congress will try to accomplish. Mark my words, folks. Corn Dog will rally any Republican buddies who are left in Congress to do likewise. He will reach out to the right wing media to demonize the Democratic Administration. And the right wing media, like FOX "News," will be more than happy to oblige.
Get it? Even if you do not live in Texas John Cornyn will work against your best interests.
We must stop Cornyn NOW. Please give anything you can to Rick Noriega. As little as $5.08 will do. Rick is only behind by a wee 6 or 7 points. With a few more pennies, Rick can close the deal.
If Rick loses (PLEASE NO!) check out the right wing extremist who will pull out all stops to block a Democratic Administration.
Watch Cornyn as he lies through his teeth about his support for our troops.
The truth: Cornyn voted against SCHIP, veteran’s benefits, Medicaid and Medicare all of which would have thrown an economic life line to millions of the twenty-four million Texans. Cornyn turned his back on his middle, working class and economically disadvantaged constituents. He works for the fat cats who drove us into the ditch and Cornyn will continue to work for the fat cats.
The Houston Chronicle has not supported a Democratic Presidential candidate since 1964. On Sunday it endorsed Barack Obama and on Tuesday it endorsed Rick Noriega.
Noriega, a Houstonian, describes himself as a Texas Democrat. That term, once common currency in the state's political conversation, seems to have fallen out of favor over the past several Republican-dominated years. But it resonates once more in this season of voter discontent with partisanship uber alles. Some old-fashioned moderate bipartisanship, Texas style, should be much welcomed in the Washington debate, particularly on overheated topics such as energy and immigration. Rick Noriega can provide it.
Over the years, Noriega has worked his way up through the ranks. He has distinguished himself as a soldier in Afghanistan and on the Texas-Mexico border, and as an elected official in Austin. During Hurricane Ike, he performed duty above and beyond the call helping those in need at the George R. Brown Convention Center. He richly deserves a promotion to Washington.
Noriega is showing himself to be the model of an effective Democrat — a centrist, moderate Texas Democrat — in a time when most voters are sick of political extremes. As such, he may one day set the standard for what a strong Texas senator can be.
Check out our guy Rick Noriega who will stand by a President Obama and his Democratic colleagues in Washington.
Check out Rick in his debate with the Corn Dog.
Read what the Houston Chronicle thinks of John Cornyn’s tenure in the U.S. Senate.
.... But John Cornyn also has been a too-loyal foot soldier for the Bush administration, willing to make a right turn off the cliff in support of fatally flawed policies on Iraq and torture, as well as casting improvident votes on a host of social issues. Unlike Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, he is not known for his attention to constituent services.
If the conservative leaning moderate Houston Chronicle gets it, so should the voters. We need your financial help so Rick can close the deal.
Thanks! I know you guys will step up even if you are as busted as we are. We always manage to find a way in this wonderful and generous community.
