Since Joe Biden's attack of foot in mouth disease the other day, and McCain naturally seizing it for a bit of campaign demagoguery, I've had one bon-mot resonating in my head that I've just got to let fly.
We have a choice, in seating the next president, of what strategic skills we want at the helm the next time the US is "tested" in the game of world politics.
Chess or tic-tac-toe?

Additional note in passing, just to add a tiny bit of substance.
It looks like Yahoo's Presidential Election Coverage page has given up on trying to find drama in the contest.
Every day I've looked the "Opinions and Editorials" listed were evenly split, 3 more or less pro Obama or anti-McCain, 3 more or less pro-McCain or anti-Obama. They weren't always blatant, a lot were "McCain could still win" type things but it was always clear in who's "tank" the writer was in.
TODAY, I looked and literally couldn't believe it. All six links were, if not pro-Obama were at least conceding that the game is over for McCain. The closest to a republican POV was Frum's WP piece.
