I know that CNN has become nothing more than a joke, but didn't they already turn Anderson Cooper into a late night comic?
Is CNN trying to be "fair and balanced" by putting on someone that gives Lou Dobbs more material for his shctick? I don't know, but it was pretty damn bad. Seriously, if you missed it...watch the clip over the hump. It only got worse from there.
(I'm reposting this because it got a good visit last night, but the morning crowd missed it.)
I, along with most of the black Kossacks that posted last night, am totally perplexed by this uncomfortable mix of "news" and antiquated black comedy. Hughley, who is 100% in the tank for Obama, may be funny on Comedy Central, but this show was one hour of FAIL filled with every stinker that could be resurrected from "The Jeffersons" to "Living Color."
Apparently Hughley signed a 40-episode contract with CNN. If he gets 4 more, I'd be surprised.
No shit...Freddy Mac as a pimp.
He also did a highly creative segment on historical Black Presidents that started out with Al Jolson dancing in black face and holding a pork chop and ended with Morgan Freeman announcing the end of the world--only the laugh track was laughing.
My opinion, this was nothing but a string of horrid and stale racial stereotypes and if Richard Pryor were alive today even he'd be hiding his head in shame.
Maybe this is CNN's attempt to launch the October Surprise?
If you hated this show as much as I did, write to CNN and tell them to stick to the news and leave Letterman and Dave Chappele to Late Night Comedy.
