Belying the widespread misrepresentation of Salt Lake City, Utah, as anything other than a progressive town, the Salt Lake Film Center today closed their "Raucus Caucus Weekend" with a showing of the just-completed movie version of Naomi Wolf's "The End of America".
This capped a terrific weekend with guests Naomi Wolf, Michael Kirk (Frontline), and Phil Donahue.
The movie is a filmed version of Ms. Wolf giving a talk on her now-famous description of the 10 steps taken by all closing societies as they move toward a police state. (It is an infinitely improved version over any filmed versions of her talks that you may have seen on YouTube.)
This is a timely and terrifying but ultimately hopeful film. You can find out more details at the film's website. From that site:
In this profound and eye-opening film, Award-winning veteran documentarians Ricki Stern and Annie Sundberg (THE DEVIL CAME ON HORSEBACK, THE TRIALS OF DARRYL HUNT) accompany Wolf as she discusses America’s dangerous passage towards becoming a society of fear and surveillance, and expresses her plea to restore our nation’s most cherished values.

But here's the best part: they completed the film in time for the election, and have made it freely available on the web at the Snag Films website. So, to see the entire The End of America online (75 minutes), click here.
And then send the link to your co-workers, friends, family, newspaper editors, local columnists -- anyone you think needs to know.
