With just one week to go before that crazy national holiday (pending), we are proud to bring you a break in your election frenzied activities. Presenting, STT: the Leading Ladies.
For those of you new to us, STT is offered in honor of the wonderful sisters of show tunes in St. Louis, meeting at the Motherhouse Convent a/k/a the Loading Zone in St. Louis' Central West End, I’m back for week two of Open Thread Show Tunes Tuesdays. There are so many lovely ladies to choose from, so let's not waste any more time with wordy introductions.
Two weeks ago, We celebrated leading men, tonight we turn to the ladies. There are so many amazingly talented musical theater women, that it's almost impossible to choose just a couple to get the party started. But enough about me. Here are my top three picks:
Barbra with a B:
Since YOU TUBE basically has NO Barbra videos available, here's a gem with Barbra (at 21) singing a medly with Judy Garland! Awesome
Bernadette Peters
Okay, I'll admit my girl crush on the red headed cupie. She is just too amazing for words. Now I must apologize to everyone for posting another Sunday in the Park with George Video, but I totally love the show and she was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G in it! So here you go.
And finally, I debated and debated, and really couldn't write this diary without the one and only Carol Channing. Here she is with a close friend singing a signature tune.
Have a nice week everyone. FYI - Show Tunes will be changed to Monday next week only because I am using my diary for liveblogging at the behest of FleetAdmiralJ. Thanks all! Happy singing!
