Use your constitutional right to vote.
Then use your phone minutes to help Barack Obama win the election.
There is a lot of talk about robocalls and TV advertising, but one important and extremely effective way of winning votes has been pretty much ignored in 2008.
It's called p2p. Also known as Peer To Peer. It's not too late to actually put it to work for Barack Obama.
If you live in a blue state, all you have to do is pick up your phone and make two phone calls to people you know in a red state.
Make one of them to a person you know will vote Democratic. Remind them to get ready for long lines and bad weather. Remind them that the entire country is counting on them to cast their vote. That's the easy one.
The second call needs to be to somebody in a red state (and all of us have a friend or relative like this) you know is voting for McCain.
You need to spend at least two minutes giving them your point of view. It may not change their mind. But the simple idea of a friend or relative taking the time to make a friendly, coherent argument against McCain will register.
A lot of Republicans are not sure of McCain. Most Republicans are not at all sure of Sarah Palin. Practically every Republican is scared stiff McCain will carry on a Bush-like economic policy and we will never dig ourselves out of this economic hole.
A calm, reasoned call from a friend they trust can actually push them away from McCain and towards Obama.
Better yet, if you happen to know one of those people that hasn't exactly made up their mind yet - call them now! Again, a reasoned, well thought-out call can push them in the right direction.
Even if this tactic works five out of one hundred times, it could have a huge impact in states like Florida, Ohio and Missouri.
Think about who you know in a Red State. Then make the calls. It could end up being the most effective way we've got to elect Barack Obama.
