Ok - so, she "wanted to talk about Barack Obama increasing taxes, which would lead to killing jobs. I wanted to talk about his proposal to increase government spending by another trillion dollars. Some of his comments that he's made about the war... I want to talk about things like that. "
But then - " I just wanted to talk to Americans without the filter and let them know what we stand for."
"...And let them know what we stand for", she says.
How exactly would talking bad about Obama be telling America what you stand for? Unless of course, what you stand for is more likes and smear campaigns.
Palin has made me realize something. That people like her has made this world a gruesome place to live in.
This world is an ugly, hateful place.
Society's perspective on "life" is fucked up.
"How about you work forty plus hours a week at a job that is mediocre and that you cannot stand until you are seventy, just to keep up with the expenses and necessities. But you cannot live too comfortably, you don't make enough money for that. So how about you struggle just to pay bill after bill. Maybe even decide between food and clothes. Hell, how about we make gas so expensive that all you do is go to work to put it right back into your tank? The rest goes to bills and the little bit of unhleathy food that you can purchase. Yes. Sounds like the perfect plan."
It is great how quality of life is purely based upon how much money you make.
Society cares too much about money. This greed-creating, jealousy-spreading little green slip of paper might as well be the devil himself.
When did well-being and happiness fall so far back on the "scale of success"? Tell me, when the hell did that drop off? When did they become so unimportant?
"Just make a lot of money. Just enough to barely 'survive'. That should bring all the happiness that you need."
What happened to nature?
"Global Warming will heal itself. Screw the ice caps, we don't need them. We'll just let the Polar Bears that are barely alive migrate into the states and then we'll put them in zoos until they go cage crazy then die"
What happened to love?
"Opps. sorry. I butchered two of my three adopted daughters and wrapped them up in the basement freezer. I beat the third. My bad."
There is too much negative energy, too much turmoil going around the world. Every year it gets worse and every year more drastic than the last.
So hey, why not send more troops overseas? Why not let them stay even longer? Why not keep raising gas prices? Raise the price of basic commodities, like bread and rice, because we want to. Hell, go ahead and put McCain in office with the empty black little beady eyes and bald head and see where that shit takes us.
Or better yet, lets make stupid little Miley Cyrus front page news online, in the paper and on television - because she is that important. A fifteen year old who cannot even sing is exactly what this world needs to be kept up to date on. Nothing else matters. Who cares about the economy or Golbal Warming? Who cares about the Presidential Election? Who cares about war and starvation? Skinny, untalented Disney kids are much more important that this.
Our priorities are so fucked up.
Sometime I think that a huge metor should hit the Earth and wipe everything out. A new fresh start. We are fucking everything up anyway.
Now Palin is saying that Katie Couric annoyed HER. Palin was the one being annoyed? What about the millions of people at home who couldn't even stand to watch their televisions because it was so painful to watch? Weren't they "annoyed" as well?
In a portion of her sit-down with Fox News correspondent Carl Cameron, Palin claimed that Couric's questions -- which produced a series of staggeringly embarrassing responses -- put her in a lose-lose position.
"The Sarah Palin in those interviews was a little bit annoyed," she said. "It's like, man, no matter what you say, you are going to get clobbered. If you choose to answer a question, you are going to get clobbered on the answer. If you choose to try to pivot and go to another subject that you believe that Americans want to hear about, you get clobbered for that too."
Palin should have been and probably was, in truth, really more annoyed with herself. I could certainly understand that. But, to somehow try and blame Katie for her failure is both childish and cowardly. She and McCain make a great team. They are two of a kind.
Guess what. When you're running for vice president and a famous journalist asks you a question, you don't get to "pivot". When it's the only nationally televised debate with your opponent, you don't get to "pivot". When you are a serious adult who is asking to be considered for the second-highest power in the land, you don't WANT to pivot. Can we secede from delusional America?
For the record, Couric asked her, among other things, what type of news sources she turns to for information, which Supreme Court decisions she disagreed with, why Alaska's proximity to Russia gave her foreign policy experience, her opinion of the bailout package for Wall Street, and where she thought Vice President Dick Cheney erred. Which one of those questions was designed to trip her up (as opposed to, say, give viewers a better sense of her character and views) is tough to ascertain.
Who does this woman think she is? The interview was for us to learn about her, not about her thoughts about Obama. The questions that Katie asked her were fair. She just couldn't answer them. She rambled and looked quite foolish. Don't be mad ...get over it. if she can't handle the pressure, she needs to go back to Alaska and start reading. Palin needs to learn about something other than Alaska, like the US and the world.
"In those Katie Couric interviews, I did feel that there were lot of things that she was missing in terms of an opportunity to ask what a VP candidate stands for, what the values are represented in our ticket. I wanted to talk about Barack Obama increasing taxes, which would lead to killing jobs. I wanted to talk about his proposal to increase government spending by another trillion dollars. Some of his comments that he's made about the war, that I think may, in my world, disqualify someone from consideration as the next commander in chief. Some of the comments that he has made about Afghanistan -- what we are doing there, supposedly just air raiding villages and killing civilians. That's reckless. I want to talk about things like that. So I guess I have to apologize for being a bit annoyed, but that's also an indication of being outside the Washington elite, outside of the media elite also. I just wanted to talk to Americans without the filter and let them know what we stand for."
A Hockeymom/Pitbull who ducks questions and whines later is passive agressive. Truth is, Sarah isn't ready for the job she wants. She projects her repressed self loathing onto Katie, Joe and Barack. She will soon realize who set her up for the big fall. Someone should tell poor Sarah that running for VP is "hard work" and sometimes things just don't go the way you want. Poor thing. Unfortunately, the McCain campaign doesn't seem to grasp the seriousness of many situations around the globe and in our own house. They cannot possible understand and offer up this pathetic air head for the number two spot.
I personally don't care what the questions were. Palin was unintelligible. Someone trying out for VP and possibly called upon to be President cannot be unintelligible, on prime time no less. Period. Most thoughtful, sincere, rational and kind people have to find this woman revolting like I do. Where do they dig up people like this and elect them leaders. My God. Alaska must be some place. The great bard said it best "tis an unweeded garden that grows to seed things rank and gross in nature"
