The onslaught of the culture war... John McCain's last chance to take the White House.
According to Mark Helperin, the "Committee for Truth in Politics" is hitting Barack Obama with an ad attacking him for supporting late term abortions.
We all knew the campaign was headed in this direction. John McCain has nothing left in his campaign. We found out today that McCain has gone completely negative in his advertising campaign. He's getting outspent by a 2.5-1 margin on the airwaves. And his ground organization is in tatters.
As Kos said, let's throw them an anvil. And that's what I decided to do today. I went to Obama's field office here in Raleigh, North Carolina, and phonebanked for Barack for a few hours. I talked to seniors who were glad to hear Barack was going to protect their social security. I talked to women who were infuriated by the choice and treatment of Sarah Palin by John McCain's advisors.
But most of all, when I walked into that field office, I SAW and participated in what this campaign is all about: Hope, Action, Change. I felt the energy in the room. When I left at 6:30 there were a dozen or so people making phone calls and entering data. Young and old, black and white. There were another few dozen out at NC State's Homecoming Parade registering voters. The deadline here is October 10th, and we'll be out tomorrow hitting the football game.
This is what it's all about folks. The next 31 days will be filled with disgusting attacks on Barack trying to make Americans forget about the huge problems they are faced with everyday. Now it's our job to step up and fight back against the lies and bullshit. 31 days to victory. Lets get it done.
