Getting this up so it can be front and center for those who rely on Dkos.
This, taken with the "my fellow prisoners" slip, really do raise questions.
Slinkerwink posted this first in her Obama ad diary, but I think it deserves its own.
Videos and text commentary under the fold.
Serious problems with JtP:
[John McCain calling JtP on-stage, only to find he is not there]
CNN Reports further:
A campaign aide later said Wurzelbacher had "decided not to come" and may join McCain later in the day.
Ok, I get it. "BLAME JOE"
But uhh......
...reached at his home by CNN's Mary Snow, Wurzelbacher said it was "news to him" that he was supposed to be at the McCain rally. Wurzelbacher said nobody from the McCain campaign confirmed he was attending the event and called the incident a "misscomunication."
Wurzelbacher also said he is headed to Philadelphia for a charity event unrelated to the campaign and has no plans to meet up with McCain today.
The panic thickens:
UPDATE: Contacted by CNN a second time, Wurzelbacher said the campaign only called him to confirm after the event in question already took place. He will now try to meet up with McCain later in the day.
And as for Joe..... uh-oh.....
Wurzelbacher also said he had gotten an initial call about coming to the morning rally, "but no one called back to confirm," and was "not happy" that McCain had called out his name and he wasn't there.
The facts emerge. Either McCain's mental faculties are degrading under the stress of the campaign (with subsequent "communications cover-up"), or his campaign is completely mismanaged and in chaos (or both).
One wonders what the confirmations were all about. McCain was in Ohio. Was Joe holding out for a prime price for a paid appearance to cash in on his sudden and brief popularity? Angry about his brand being used without his presence?
Update 1: Remember this?
[McCain referring to "my fellow prisoners" rather than "my fellow Americans"]
Update 2: Given the embarrassment, McCain certainly did have a pretty quick and effective save with that segue into "You're all Joe the Plumber", he may have chaotic organizational problems, and certain personal issues, but he's not on his last mental leg just yet. Of course we don't know what "little helpers" doctor is providing, either.
UPdate 3: And in favor of the "campaign chaos" explanation, we can always remember this:
