(I realize that state rep articles aren't exactly the most popular topics here at Daily Kos, and odds are this doesn't get much traffic, but I am posting it anyway in an effort to expose some repugnant GOP tactics and rally locals on both sides of Tampa Bay to support Carl Zimmermann)
These last few days have been quite "taxing" for the citizens of District 48 and supporters of Carl Zimmermann. We've seen chronic lying from Peter Nehr, trying to distort the record and distract the public.
Newsflash: Carl Zimmermann does not support a state income tax.
More below the fold.
And while Nehr continues to repeat banalities about being able to fix the state economy, he has enough problems getting his own financial house in order. He is currently being sued by several banks and has had problems in the past tending to his own finances.
This is the man to "fix" the state economy? A morally, ethically, and financially bankrupt individual? Thanks but no thanks.
The hours are ticking down, and we need your support now more than ever to refute the smears and spread the truth about Carl. At midnight, Thursday night, we will no longer be able to take financial donations so contribute what you can and help us cover costs to the end of this thing.
Meanwhile, we could use all the volunteers we can get in these closing hours of the 2008 campaign. Wave signs outside of precincts, tell your neighbors about Carl, and most importantly -- VOTE!! Call the office between 9am and 5pm and tell us your availability to hold a sign on Election Day.
It's lies versus the truth, and fear versus hope. Contribute to Carl's campaign and let the truth be victorious election day!
Note: I am webmaster of Carl Zimmermann's campaign website. I also would like to point out that the FLHD-48 race is consistently listed as one of the top matches to watch across Florida. Zimmermann lost his election in 2006 by a mere 1500 votes in the heavily Republican district and has won endorsements from both local daily newspapers (the moderate St. Petersburg Times and conservative Tampa Tribune)
It's a close race and Nehr cannot win on issues -- he can win, however, on noise. Please contribute to our effort to fight back and send a good man and bipartisan supported politician to Tallahassee.
