Maybe Elizabeth Dole bit off a little more than she can chew.
RALEIGH (AP) - Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Kay Hagan filed a lawsuit Thursday against rival Elizabeth Dole, accusing the Republican incumbent of defamation and libel for running a television ad that questions Hagan's ties to an atheist political group.
Hagan filed a lawsuit in Wake County Superior Court after Dole declined to remove the ad from the air by a noon deadline.
The infamous ad has been hashed and re-hashed today in various diaries:

One of the best parts of the story is that the lawsuit was served at Dole's Washington, DC office. The humor here lies in the fact that Dole has only spent a very limited time in North Carolina during her tenure as Senator, and has actually lived in Washington for almost 40 years.
I like the state of Kansas well enough, but in a few more days, North Carolina's going to have its Senate seat back.
