It seems like every four years, Democrats select a gentleman to be their candidate and then they are cheering him for being such a nice guy - as opposed to his dirty-trickster-opponent. Then, the election arrives and the Republican crook wins.
Well, history shows that, "the party responsible for the dirtiest tricks usually [wins]."
From the book, ."Anything for a Vote" by Joseph Commins:
And dirty tricks do influence the outcome of the presidential elections. In some of the ugliest elections of all time - from the Jefferson-Adams bloodbath of 1800 through the Hoover-Smith smearfast of 1928 to the Bush-Gore millennial madness - the party responsible for the dirtiest tricks usually won.
We had strong candidates in 2000 and 2004 and we still lost because of the Republican dirty tricks; IF (I agree it's a very big IF) Mccain pulls it off and wins this year's election, we'll pay the price again, for being too nice.
My opinion is that it's a mistake that the Obama campaign didn't devote more funds and time to answer the Mccain smears. I know that we're gonna win, but it's gonna be a narrow victory because of all the voters we already lost in this war to a vicious enemy.
Let's take off the gloves once and for all and return the favor to the bad-behaving Republicans, and like the bible says, "then shall ye do unto him as he had thought to have done unto his brother so shalt thou put the evil away from among you."
"Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot."
Obama was supposed to win this election by a margin of like 20 before the smears began.
