A gorgeous fall early afternoon here in Des Moines saw more than 25,000 Iowans show up to see the man they launched to the Democratic nomination...
Here's a look at the rally...
A great line by Iowa's Democratic Senator Tom Harkin...
"One last thing about this election for you to remember is something we all learned in driver's education class...
If you want to go backwards then go with R but if you want to go forward then go with D"
The crowd was so diverse and full of all age groups...looked like a lot of folks slipped out of work to head to the rally.
Obama fired the crowd up and reminded us of how on a cold winter's night in January we Iowans helped start him on this historic path.
I was so impressed with the campaign too as they circulated throughout the crowd asking for volunteers for GOTV. This is where the Obama GOTV had it's first trial run to great success.
I was also simply thrilled at the sense of history...standing amongst all these Iowans (a fair amount of them older and white) who are fully behind this campaign. The feeling of optimism and positivity was soooo different than John Kerry's last stop in Iowa during 2004.
Concern trolls fear not....Iowa is going BLUE!!!
