I saw Obama's infomercial and I don't consider it a closing argument. In fact, at this point, I don't think we need a closing argument. We need a closing slogan ringing in voters' ears when they enter the voting booth. And that is to once again remind everyone of the Iraq war and economic crisis that has barely begun to play out. You gotta play offense to the finish, and right now the voters are hearing nothing but "Obama = socialist." We need to have them equate "Pointless Iraq war + Wall Street meltdown = McCain."
I don't have much more to add, but since it's encouraged, I'll try.
We can't let McCain have the last word, so to speak, in people's minds. The socialist charge is ridiculous, but the media love ridiculous.
We need to be a little ridiculous and get the last word out in the media. McCain = Failure. Failure of a war that never should've been waged. Failure to catch Osama bin laden. Failure to protect your job, your finances.
We should also turn McCain's phrase around that Obama can't be trusted with the job. If anyone has shown that during this campaign, it's McCain. With his crazy switching on issues, strategies, on and on. Not to mention the Palin pick.
I don't like Obama's statement that "it's going to get nasty" in the last days. My advice is get tougher than them all the way to end. Americans like a fighter. We've got to show we're fighting more than McCain.
Democrats have a tendency to trust democracy to thinkers, instead of understanding the visceral way many people respond. Get mean, get tough and pound on these guys until the polls close Tuesday.
For what it's worth.
