It's November 5th and the headlines read:
HISTORIC: America elects its first African American President.
It's not just our papers that will say this, almost every newspaper in the world will have that headline on the front page.
Just imagine it, the sweet exhale of relief, not just from our lips but a breath of relief from people in every country in the world. Billions of people relieved.
Just imagine it, the joyous celebrations that will be held all over our country and all over the world. It's better than ding dong the witch is dead, it's going to feel a million times better than that.
Just imagine it, looking at your children and really knowing that we still live in a country where if you study and work hard enough, anyone can become president. You don't have to be rich or the relative of someone powerful, your mom can get food stamps and still you might have a chance.
Just imagine it, the two people in charge of our country will be people that love the Constitution of the United States so much that they both have spent thousands of hours studying it and teaching it to others.
Just imagine it, eight nightmarish years of Orwell and double speak over, rejected, frowned upon.
Just imagine it, a new dawn, a new day, a new era in American politics. A true beginning of the 21st century.
The future is ours.
Now lets get out there and make it happen.
See you at the inauguration, first drink is on me.
